Poli optimism, Masina rumours & Bologna transfers

Hi everyone! There has been some news since last time, so let’s just dive right into it!

Since yesterday some good news have come from Casteldebole. After Andrea Poli had to stop during training earlier this week, there has been some speculation about for how long he would be out. However, yesterday came news from the club that Poli’s already back in full training, and he can therefore take part against Crotone tomorrow. Hopefully he’ll be fit enough to start, as we need his work-rate and creativity going into the game.

As some of you may know, Napoli played in the Champions League on Wednesday, and their left-back Ghoulam went out injured with a thorn ACL. He’ll be out for a long time, and Napoli are on the look-out for a replacement. Yesterday came the news that their target is no other than our own Adam Masina (TBW). It’s not difficult to understand their interest in him, nevertheless, this is a player that we really should fight to keep. We’ve got a great team, we’re on our way up, and if Masina stays then he can be part of that. Also, if we were to sell him we would have to get hold of a replacement right away, something which would not be simple in the January transfer window. Our only other left-back is Cheick Keita, and he has really not proved anything at the club yet.

Yesterday there was also speculations regarding some players that Bologna are tracking at the moment with a January transfer in mind. First up is the young Alberto Dossena, a central defender, currently on loan at Perugia from Atalanta (TBW). Interesting, if true, that we are tracking young talents. Next on the list is Gabriel Paletta, Milan’s central defender (TBW). A really experienced player, who could do a job for us. We’ll se what happens in January with this one, but a central defender is not essential for us to buy, as we’ve got enough at the moment. The last player linked with Bologna is Andrea Barberis of Crotone (TBW). Lining up against us tomorrow, Bigon and his team will get to see him in action at the Dall’Ara. A central midfielder which could do a job for us, however, we’ve got a lot of players in his position, so I have some doubts about this one.

That’s all for today, I’ll be back tomorrow with a preview of the Crotone game.
