As we move closer to Monday’s game against Hellas Verona, the tension is growing as a win is demanded. However, we are still some way of the game, and there hasn’t been a lot of news regarding the game. There has been some talk about contract negotiations though, and here’s my thoughts on it:
Ibrahima M’baye: Bologna owner Joey Saputo has apparently been working on extending the young fullback’s contract during the international break. According to TBW, Saputo has offered a new contract which would last until 2021/22. M’baye has not been to keen on signing the proposition though, as he wants more money. M’baye has developed very well over the last year, and he is a player that Bologna should keep hold of. He has got good pace, he’s strong, and he has got good technique. Unless he is demanding ridiculous amounts of money, Saputo should be doing everything to keep him at the club.
Adam Masina: The talk about a renewal for Masina has been here for quite a while, but TBW has yet again reported on it. They say that there still is some distance between what Bologna are offering, and what Masina wants. They also talk about an earlier offer from Sevilla, which was quite above what Bologna currently are offering. His contract expires in 2019, and if the contract is not extended during this season, Bologna should think about selling him next summer, unless they’re running the risk of losing him for free. He is a great player, and one we should keep hold of though, and Saputo should be doing everything to keep him.
Godfred Donsah: The last player to be up for a contract renewal according to TBW is Donsah. This is the player they seem to be most pessimistic about, as he apparently has made some comments after his debut for Ghana, which makes a renewal unlikely. They also say that, because of this, he could be leaving already in January. This would be a terrible loss for the team. He is still very young, and he has been playing really well for the club, and he can develop to become even better. His contract lasts until 2020 though, so there’s no rush in selling him or renewing his contract.
