In a move that came somewhat out of the blue, Bologna have loaned Simone Romagnoli from Empoli until the end of the season with an option to buy, whilst Domenico Maietta goes the other way in a permanent deal.

Romagnoli, a right-footed central defender standing at 1.93cm, is 27 years of age and will join up with the club right away.

Domenico Maietta has played quite well when called upon this season, so for him to be sold came as bit of a surprise. However, given his age it does make sense to use him in a trade for a younger player. Mimmo has been a great servant to the club, and Sempre Bologna wishes him good luck on his new adventure.

We’ll have more on this deal tomorrow.
