Pondering about Bologna + Injury news

Greetings everyone!

Not a lot to write about today as we await the game against Roma on Saturday. The result against Lazio was disappointing, but there were some positives to take from it,  and you can read about them in the match review from yesterday.

There are some things that I’ve been pondering about since the game:

Will Godfred Donsah be fit for Roma? We have a lot of options in central midfield, especially with Andre Poli being rested against Lazio. A midfield trio of Poli, Nagy and Pulgar seems the most likely if Donsah is out injured. However, it’s a shame if Donsah is out as he’s been playing really well this season.

We have a big squad with the second stringers ready to play. After playing mostly the same team all season long, against we witnessed a lot of changes to the team sheet. Players like Nagy, Falletti and Krejci all played well, as did Krafth and Okwonkwo. To have such a big squad of talented players is essential if we are to achieve something this season.

We need goalscorers. After ten league games our top scorer is Rodrigo Palacio with two goals to his name. We need someone who can step up and score some goals if we are to do better than last year. Since last season we have become better defensively, but without people contributing with goals, we wont win games.

In more recent news, the club has announced that Antonio Mirante is out injured for 2-3 weeks, meaning we’ll have to rely on Angelo Da Costa against Roma. Mirante reported a problem with his hamstring on Wednesday, with a test yesterday revealing a light strain. A big loss for the team, and it will be interesting to see how Da Costa performs.

That’s all for today, I’ll be back tomorrow with a preview to the Roma game!
